Set Internet Explorer Security
Overview: Confirm that the user's Internet Explorer Security setting is at "Medium". This setting is accessed from "Tools --> Internet Options" menu in Internet Explorer.
- Click the "Settings" tab. Under "Select a Zone...", ensure "Internet" is highlighted.
- If the user has a setting of "Custom" as shown in the left image below, they must click the "Default Level" button before the security level slider will become visible.
- The correct settings should match the right image, below. Note: If "Medium-High" is the lowest the settings will go (as defined by the network administrator), then "Medium-High" should be selected.
SET INTERNET EXPLORER PRIVACY
Overview: Confirm that the user's Internet Explorer Privacy setting is at "Low". This setting is accessed from "Tools --> Internet Options" menu in Internet Explorer.
- Click the "Privacy" tab and under "Settings", select "Advanced". Accept "First-party Cookies" and "Third-party Cookies".
- The user's Pop-up Blocker can also be disabled via the checkbox near the bottom of the dialog. The Pop-up Blocker should not be turned on or enabled.
- The setting is correct when the user's screen matches the image on the right, below.
