FAQ

Answers

Q: What is a virtual forum?

A: Like face-to-face conferences, the main features that draw audiences to events are the educational presentations and     booths on the expo floor. Virtual forums offer both from the convenience of your desktop without the inconvenience or     cost of travel. Attendance is free. All you need to do is register. Register by clicking here.

Q: Why is Cisco offering a virtual forum?

A: With escalating travel costs and hassles, less company funds for air and hotel expenses, virtual forums offer a     convenient way for a worldwide audience to attend conferences to network and learn.

Q: How does a virtual forum work?

A: First you must register (free of charge) and input your user name and password. Then simply log into the  forum from      the comfort of your home or office. You must have a PC or Mac that's connected to a high-speed internet connection.      Once inside the virtual forum doors you'll be able to browse the expo floor, chat with booth staff and other attendees,      download whitepapers and other e-literature and attend live Keynote and Breakout presentations via webcast.

Q: What are the registration costs for an attendee?

A: Attendance is absolutely free! Our sponsors pay a fee which covers the costs of the virtual forum.

Q: What offers and prizes are available for attending the virtual forum?

A: All attendees will receive a FREE copy of "Facing The World: TelePresence in Education" White Paper; a new planning      guide from California State University, Monterey Bay which provides practical guidance on how to effectively implement      video collaboration in the classroom. This White Paper will be available to download from your “briefcase”. Attendees      will have opportunity to earn enough points for a chance to win a pop-up mini speaker or an autographed, hard copy of:      "Every Child, Every Day", by Mark Edwards. For more information see Prize Rules in the Prize center.

Q: How long will the event material be available after the live event?

A: All conference material and expo booths will be remain available for registered attendees for six months following the     closing date of the event. This virtual forum is slated to be available on-demand from March 20 – September 20, 2013.

Q: What do I need to do before I attend?

A: Attendance is 100% free! Simply fill out our registration form and you will immediately receive an email confirmation with      detailed instructions for attending. As the live date gets closer you'll receive a few reminders. Make sure you have the      needed browsers and plugins installed on your computer. See below for details.

Then, on the day of the virtual forum, all you need to do is enter the same user name and password you provided upon      initial registration to access the show. It's as easy as that!

Q: Do I need to have any special plugs or software installed on my computer?

A: To interact with the online environment requires a Windows PC with Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10, Firefox 16, 17 or 18, or      Google Chrome 22, 23 or 24. Mac with Firefox 16, 17 or 18, Safari 5.0, 5.1 or 6 and Google Chrome 22, 23 or 24 are also      supported. We support Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 or 8 on PCs. Snow Leopard, Lion, and Mountain      Lion are supported on Macs. Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server Release 6.2 (64 bit) are also supported operating      systems. Adobe Flash Player 10 or higher is required. Access to the internet using high speed access (Cable, DSL,      Network) is highly recommended for the overall environment and is required for all presentations. Pop-up blockers must      also be disabled and cookies and JavaScript should be enabled. On entering the environment, a system check is run      which will identify computer requirements that need to be addressed to interact with the online environment. It is      recommended to view the environment with the display resolution of 1280 x 768.

For Mobile Events, we require the iOS version to be 4.2.1 or higher, Android device versions to be 2.3 – 4.2.1 and      Windows version 7.5.1.

Before you access the environment, you should ensure that your browser is configured to stream media. All webcasts      require a broadband connection. For webcasts including video, you will need a minimum Internet connection of      450Kbps. INXPO recommends a connection of 750Kbps or higher.
